Professional Wheel Redrilling Services
Wheel redrilling can provide more wheel options for a car, and is done by professionals to ensure safety and durability. Additionally, it's important to verify that the new bolt pattern does not interfere with other factors, like brake clearance or hub size.
We have two methods to redrill wheels:
Standard Wheel redrilling is a process where the bolt holes of a wheel are altered to fit a different vehicle's bolt pattern. This is typically done when someone wants to mount wheels on a vehicle that originally wouldn't be compatible with that wheel due to differences in the number of bolt holes or the spacing between them.
For example, if you have a set of wheels with a 5x112 bolt pattern but your car uses a 5x114.3 pattern, you could redrill the wheels to fit your car.
The process involves:
- Measuring the existing bolt pattern and determining the new bolt pattern up to 8mm from original size ( i,e 5x114.3 to 5x120 ).
- Drilling existing lug holes on the wheel to match the new pattern, using a CNC machine for precision.
- Adding Inserts, this involves inserting hardened steel sleeves or inserts to reinforce the new holes and ensure the lug nuts have a proper seat.
Dual drill where entirely new holes are drilled between the existing ones, assuming there’s enough space on the wheel’s back pad. This is more common when the wheel design and back pad is flat so that it allows for it without overlapping the original holes.
